Master's in Parliament and Public Policy
Second-Level Master's Degree
The Master’s program is designed to prepare graduates for public competitions to pursue careers in the Senate of the Republic, the Chamber of Deputies, regional and local assemblies, constitutional bodies, as well as in state, regional, and European Union administrations. The Master’s program also offers specific preparation for those interested in participating in selection processes for courses and competitions aimed at public management and European Union institutions. The MAPPP aims to train senior officials from representative, governmental, and administrative institutions, providing them with a critical and multidisciplinary understanding of issues related to the functioning of modern parliamentary systems. The goal is to provide participants with post-graduate training that enables them not only to master various disciplines but also to grasp the connections between them and apply these insights to institutional dynamics. Consequently, this training should also be reflected in the production of written texts, most of which are prepared in the classroom under time constraints, simulating the exams for public competitions.
As part of the MAPPP, a “Jean Monnet” ad personam chair was established starting in the 2009-2010 academic year, held by Prof. Andrea Manzella. The chair focuses on the topic “The democratic principle in the European Union (EU)” and is sponsored by the European Commission. Its aim is to address the major issues concerning the nature of representation, both at the EU level and within its member states.
