Luiss is restarting with an eye on the future

Countdown to the digital admissions tests

(February 18–22) and in-person classes starting Monday the 8th

February will bring big changes to Luiss Guido Carli. Starting Monday, the 8th, the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year will begin, with about two-thirds of classes held in person for all students in Bachelor’s, Master’s, and single-cycle Master’s programs.

To ensure a return that fully complies with regulations, campus spaces have been expanded, with new facilities for attending classes, studying, and enjoying campus life, as well as participating in the many projects of a university that has never stopped during these months of emergency. In fact, since last March, there have been over 20,000 hours of classes and more than 4,200 remote exams. These figures have made Luiss a global case study for Cisco, the American ICT giant.

Digital infrastructure will continue to play a key role, including through the installation of smart whiteboards with 4K webcams to enhance collaborative learning activities. But that's not all: between Thursday, February 18th and Monday, February 22nd, the next admissions test will be held for Bachelor's and Single-Cycle Master's degree programs, which this year will exceptionally be conducted remotely. In preparation for the exam, a virtual Open Day is scheduled for Saturday, February 6, starting at 9:00 a.m. The event will be introduced by the University’s Director General, Giovanni Lo Storto, and will offer a deeper look at the unique features of the 2021/22 academic program, as well as a chance to try an online simulation of the admissions exam.

Moreover, despite the pandemic, the University—thanks to the work of its Career Service—has enabled over 6,000 students and alumni to participate in four virtual job fairs, connect with more than 80 employers including multinationals, law firms, and companies, and conduct interviews and internships.

Luiss also continues its strong push toward internationalization, thanks to over 300 agreements with partners in more than 60 countries. These include prestigious universities like King’s College London, with which the University named after Guido Carli has established new bilateral agreements, such as dual degrees in International Management and Policies and Governance in Europe.

With this in mind, Luiss has launched new educational programs, particularly master’s degrees (applications are open until April 15, and selection will be based on qualifications). These include the master’s degree in Law, Digital Innovation, and Sustainability, designed to train managers in innovation and sustainability—key skills to guide companies and governments through the upcoming ecological and digital transition in both Italy and Europe.
