Employability at Luiss: where talent meets the future
Employability is a structural responsibility within our educational model.
"We don't prepare students to enter the workforce. We train the professionals the market needs."
At our university, employability is woven into the educational experience from day one. It’s not just a service offered at the end of studies, but a fundamental part of the learning journey.
Through an ecosystem that connects teaching, businesses, institutions, and international networks, students develop technical skills, soft skills, and professional experience throughout their entire university journey.
The result is tangible and measurable: 95% of our graduates find employment within a year of graduation, and a third receive a job offer before even defending their thesis.
The bond between Luiss and Confindustria is an integral part of the university’s identity, resulting in an ongoing relationship with companies, managers, and organizations active in the country’s main economic sectors.
This ongoing dialogue allows our students to engage with real-world dynamics, challenges, and decision-making processes right from their time at the university. On the other hand, executive managers and entrepreneurs come into our classrooms not just as guests, but as co-designers of the educational experience.
Our long-standing partners include Accenture, Amazon, BNP Paribas, Deloitte, Enel, Eni, Fincantieri, Generali, KPMG, McKinsey & Company, Unicredit, and Volkswagen, as well as over a hundred other national and international employers in the Finance, Consulting, Corporate, Legal, and Public Affairs sectors.
A training model focused on student employability
The Luiss educational model combines quantitative skills, soft skills, and experiential learning into a single educational path focused on professional impact.
Technical skills (Hard Skills)
Luiss programs combine the rigor of the social sciences with quantitative skills, AI literacy, data analysis, and an understanding of key economic, geopolitical, and organizational trends. The curricula are continuously updated to reflect emerging trends: digital transformation, ESG, managing geopolitical complexity, and governance of global organizations.
Advisory boards made up of managers and executives help shape the programs, ensuring that what students learn in the classroom aligns with current market demands and anticipates future needs.
In an AI-augmented job market, value hinges not only on the ability to use digital tools, but also on the quality of judgment, decision-making responsibility, and the capacity to turn analysis and knowledge into action.
At Luiss, we train professionals with skills that no algorithm can replace: judgment, responsibility, collaboration in complex contexts, and the ability to translate analysis into concrete action. These are complemented by the contribution of the humanities, which strengthen critical thinking, the ability to interpret, and an understanding of the social, economic, and cultural dynamics that influence decisions.
AI is the work environment for our graduates, not the goal of their education. The goal is to train individuals who can navigate, make decisions, and lead within that environment.
That's why at Luiss, artificial intelligence is integrated into the learning journey as a cross-cutting tool, supporting new ways of learning, collaborating, and solving complex problems without replacing critical thinking.
Soft Skills
Students practice and develop soft skills—such as communication, leadership, and collaboration—through dedicated workshops, simulations, real-world business case studies, and an approach that combines learning by doing with engaged learning. Students are actively engaged in experiences that connect them with organizations, professionals, and real-world settings, allowing them to develop skills that are immediately applicable in professional contexts.
The Employability Lab guides students on a journey of self-awareness and professional development, helping them identify their strengths, build their personal professional brand, and define a concrete action plan for their careers.
