The Master's Degree Programme in Strategic Management is designed to develop consultants and managers capable of managing innovative and sustainable strategies within organisations operating in increasingly complex markets and ecosystems. The programme is a unique learning experience because it equips its students to design solutions for key challenges and emerging risks in global, national and local contexts.

Through constant student-faculty interaction and cooperation with public, private, scientific and social actors, the curriculum provides a multidimensional and interdisciplinary view of the economic, institutional and social dynamics that influence global and local markets. A distinctive element of the programme is the combination of managerial, legal and economic knowledge.

The Master's Degree Programme in Strategic Management offers a well-structured and innovative programme, split into four majors:

  • Strategic Management and Consulting (taught in Italian and English)
  • Sustainability & Circular Economy (taught in English)
  • Technology Strategy (taught in English)

Students start with a solid theoretical and practical training in strategic management and embark on their chosen major. Each track includes a set of courses aimed at developing specialised skills, with practical application of knowledge within organisations.

The course provides the tools to understand and analyse the forces that influence industrial dynamics and competition within different sectors, with practical exercises based on real data focusing in particular on the Italian manufacturing industry.

The course provides a theoretical foundation for understanding and developing effective business strategies. In particular, it provides skills to identify organisational problems, understand data collection and analysis techniques, interpret and present meaningful results, and recommend courses of action for corporate decision-makers.

The course addresses a range of corporate finance topics, including advanced models for capital budgeting decisions, bond and equity valuation, calculation of the cost of capital and business appraisal.

The course fosters a critical reflection on issues such as executive powers, corporate governance, monopolies, production offshoring and labour outsourcing, while providing the tools to steer innovation towards a more equitable, sustainable and inclusive society.

The course aims to provide the tools to analyse the competitive scenario, choose the most appropriate business model, develop strategic initiatives, evaluate investments and build a sustainable financial plan. Particular attention is devoted to integrated risk management and the pursuit of sustainability-oriented strategic objectives.

The course examines how organisations can effectively govern innovation and the adoption of new technologies, highlighting the strategic role these play in fostering business success. It also analyses different managerial solutions aimed at promoting and supporting the development of innovation in organisational processes and structures.

The course explores the phenomenon of digital transformation and its impact on society and the economy. It analyses how digitalisation affects organisational structures, strategies, stakeholder relations and the definition of the value proposition. Students will be guided in understanding the challenges and opportunities related to this process, acquiring useful tools to develop problem-solving strategies in digital contexts.

The course develops key shills in leadership and effective cooperation. Through theory and practical exercises, students learn how to lead teams, motivate people, manage conflicts and make decisions in complex and dynamic contexts.

Tuition fees, scholarships and benefits 

The annual single tuition fee for enrolment in the Master's Degree Programme in Strategic Management is € 15,000.00, divided into 3 instalments, plus the regional student welfare tax.*

Luiss offers scholarships and partial or total exemptions from university tuition fees, also thanks to the support of public and private partners.

The University has also entered into agreements with Italian banks to offer flexible loans without collateral.

The degree programme equips graduates for strategic roles in multinational businesses, consulting firms, start-ups, public and non-profit organisations.

Graduates will be able to apply for positions such as:

  • strategic manager - to plan and implement strategic initiatives in various sectors
  • innovation manager - within businesses or consultancies, to drive change and promote sustainable practices
  • sustainability officer - to ensure compliance with environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards
  • entrepreneur role - in start-ups or companies oriented towards strategic and sustainable innovation
  • analyst, consultant, project manager - in government agencies or NGOs, with a focus on development, investment, sustainability and inclusion policies
