Governance
These roles are part of the university’s broader governance structure, which includes an Executive Committee. This committee, composed of prominent figures such as President Giorgio Fossa, Rector Paolo Boccardelli, General Director Rita Carisano, and ALUISS Executive Vice President Barbara Beltrame Giacomello, plays a crucial role in defining the university’s strategies and managing its operations, ensuring strong and competent leadership for Luiss’s development and innovation.
Governance bodies
The university's governance structure consists of eight bodies that work in unison to ensure balance and maximum efficiency within the university.
Board of Directors
It approves the University's budget, financial statements, and strategic plan. It sets the general strategic direction, appoints the University's leadership, and decides on the establishment of Schools and Departments.
Executive Committee
Leads and coordinates the University’s activities, translating the strategic plan into concrete actions. Exercises spending and revenue powers not reserved by the Statute to other bodies, within the limits of the budget approved by the Board of Directors.
Academic Senate
As the governing body for teaching and research, it sets the guidelines for department and school planning, as well as for quality, methodological innovation, and internationalization of the educational offering.
Rector's Team
A collegial body that supports the Rector in leading the University. It is made up of Vice Rectors and Advisors with vertical strategic responsibilities for internationalization, research, business relations, social impact, and the Alumni community.
Management Team
A strategic committee led by the Director General and made up of the area directors and the heads of the university's staff functions. It coordinates operational management, ensuring the efficiency of processes that support the Luiss community.
Evaluation Hub
It assesses the quality and effectiveness of teaching, research, and the third mission, as well as the efficiency of administrative services. It reviews the Quality Assurance (QA) System and supports the University in reviewing its overall Governance System.
Quality Assurance
It supports and monitors the University’s departments and centers in their Quality Assurance (QA) processes. It prepares guidelines for the self-assessment and review of degree programs, doctoral programs, and departments, supporting the governance system.
Supervisory Board
With independent powers of initiative and control, it oversees the functioning, compliance, and updating of the Organization, Management, and Control Model pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 231/01, as well as the related risk prevention and control systems.
