Luiss research serving organizations
Employability also involves the ability to interpret change. That's why training also encompasses applied knowledge, analysis, data, forecasts, and interpretive models that help organizations understand change and anticipate it.
At Luiss, we promote and produce high-level applied research in the fields of economics, management, law, political science, and—more and more—artificial intelligence. The goal is to transform knowledge and research into practical tools that guide decisions, strategies, and innovation processes in highly complex environments.
The Confindustria-Luiss Observatory on Foreign Companies
Among the University’s key examples of applied research, the Observatory on Foreign Companies, co-founded by Confindustria and Luiss, annually produces analyses on foreign-controlled companies in Italy, examining their impact on employment, innovation, production chains, and the country’s competitiveness. The 7th Report was presented in May 2025.
A key reference point for multinational companies operating in Italy and for the institutions that shape policies to attract investment.
Luiss Business School: Applied Research and Competence Centers
The Luiss Business School operates through Competence Centers and thematic Labs—centers for applied research and Business Practice—focusing on key areas such as digitalization, sustainability, organizational innovation, financial markets, and AI. Partner companies can access these centers to commission research, participate in knowledge transfer projects, and co-develop analytical tools tailored to their specific contexts.
The AI4Society Center and the Department of AI, Data & Decision Sciences
The Department of AI, Data & Decision Sciences and the AI4Society Research Center represent one of the University’s key strategic investments in the field of artificial intelligence and its economic, social, and organizational implications. The approach is interdisciplinary: technology, social sciences, governance, ethics, and decision-making processes are integrated to analyze the impact of AI on organizational models and contemporary professional contexts.
For companies and institutions, collaborating with this ecosystem means accessing expertise that combines scientific rigor, an openness to innovation, and the ability to interpret ongoing transformations beyond the purely technological dimension.
Luiss: the partner for organizations that invest in human capital as a competitive advantage.
