The newly established Research Center is dedicated to Law and Governance, with a focus on the regulatory dimensions of compliance, security, and sustainability. The aim is to explore, through an interdisciplinary and innovative approach, the theoretical foundations and empirical manifestations of public and private law as they currently evolve, in order to identify their development in an increasingly complex, globalized, and rapidly changing world. The research center aims to serve as a point of reference, bridging theory and practice, in the public debate on key issues. Specifically, it will address governance and regulatory compliance in their various forms, both in the public and private sectors; the legal aspects of global security and cybersecurity; emerging transnational sustainability scenarios and the importance of ESG factors, particularly within supply chains; and the regulation of the economy and market structures at both the national and supranational levels. Indeed, the Center will bring together a community of legal scholars from various fields—criminal law and procedure, commercial law, tax law, public law, regulation of new technologies, and comparative private law—who share a practice-oriented perspective aimed at maximizing the impact of their research on the outside world. The Research Center in Law and Governance aims to engage with key institutional stakeholders and the business world, following the University’s tradition. At the same time, it seeks to serve as a knowledge hub and a driving force behind projects that benefit stakeholders and the local community.
