Obiettivi formativi
The course aims to examine the impact of Artificial Intelligence on human rights, rule of law and democracy and the regulatory responses under international and EU law. Particular attention will be paid to the EU AI Act and the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention on AI and Human Rights.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
The exam consists of an oral test in which the student must demonstrate that he/she knows and understands the principles of international and european law and their application to artificial intelligence; capability to apply these notions to practical cases submitted to his/her attention. The student must be able to independently consult and analyse legal sources and correctly use the technical-legal vocabulary of the subject, thus demonstrating that he/she has acquired the ability to independently pursue in-depth study of the subject. The final grade is expressed in thirtieths. Insufficient preparation, corresponding to a score below 18, will lead to failure to pass the exam. Answering all questions correctly, demonstrating an excellent level of preparation, will lead to the attribution of a score of 30, possibly cum laude/with honours. In assessing the level of preparation of the student, the following evaluation criteria will be taken into account: knowledge and understanding of the notions and principles of the subject and ability to apply them to concrete cases (65%); appropriate use of the technical and legal vocabulary (25%); ability to analyze and evaluate relevant sources and acquisition of the study method (10%).
Criteri per l’assegnazione dell’elaborato finale
Interest and aptitude for the subject, excellent knowledge of English, passing the exam with a minimum grade of 27/30.
