Instructional goals

The process of defining the main policies of the European Union to face the new geopolitical structures European performance-based policy design and implementation of planned investments

Prerequisites

Intended learning outcomes

Thanks to access to institutional documents (working papers, reports and conclusions of the European Council) students will become familiar with the main dossiers currently on the table of the European Commission, with the policy design of the European Union and with the key policies. Through access to policy briefs, the ability to achieve synthesis between conflicting or otherwise non-conventing national interests Through the interrogation of European databases, the student will be able to identify fake news related to European policies.

The most up-to-date material ( policy briefs, reports etc.) will be distributed and discussed during the course. Teaching Methods

Modules 1, 2 and 3 provide an initial approach based on the display of interactive slides on European cohesion and integration. The dossiers, instead, provide for discussions and comparisons in the classroom on the basis of working papers, policy briefs, reports and data base queries made available on the platform Luiss Learn

Assessment Method

An intermediate test (60% final score) is foreseen after the release of Modules 1, 2 and 3 The final oral exam (40% final score) will focus on the discussion and deepening of one of the dossiers assigned to the student
