Amid escalating global tensions, Europe finds itself at a historic turning point. Russia’s expanding influence on Europe’s borders has heightened security concerns, while high-stakes elections and political shifts worldwide contribute to a sense of unease. In this pivotal moment, choices made now will reverberate across decades, shaping not only the continent's security but the global balance of power and democracy. The Black Sea and Mediterranean regions lie at the heart of this geopolitical complexity, as diverse military, economic, and legal interests converge and clash among coastal states. Here, nations are striving to achieve conflicting objectives, often resulting in policies that seem inconsistent and erratic. This volatile environment of rising risks and fierce competition calls for a deeper, strategic understanding of the forces in play.
