The Observatory aims to create a coherent and innovative pathway that, beginning with research activities, can lead to both the development of study and training programs for students and professionals and the provision of scientific and strategic consulting services for public and private organizations. The two closely interrelated areas of focus are governance innovation, which aims to identify new processes and solutions for managing innovation within companies and institutions, and impact management, which seeks to develop new methodologies and tools to describe and quantify an organization’s impact and to enhance strategic planning and management in line with traditional business objectives.

Through its activities, the GIIM Observatory aims to: define and validate new indicators that can quantify and monetize the impact generated; build ad hoc financial assets for the development and dissemination of impact innovation and for impact-oriented change management processes; develop new models and processes that can predict and strategically guide organizations’ shift toward trajectories that generate positive impact; identify new professionals capable of governing and managing impact; and develop dedicated educational programs to support these efforts.
