The Observatory aims to conduct a detailed, multi-year analysis of the concept of an innovative agri-food supply chain, mapping out each step of the supply chain in detail and highlighting areas and opportunities for innovation. Indeed, there is a clear need to monitor the development of a sector that drives the national GDP and Made in Italy, enhance the competitiveness of supply chain stakeholders, and identify innovations with the greatest potential impact on the sector’s economic and environmental sustainability. The goal is to generate and disseminate knowledge that can be put to use by businesses, institutions, and players in the startup ecosystem. To achieve the aforementioned objectives, the Observatory intends to adopt an approach that is:

  • Multi-model: analyzing the technological transition of the agri-food supply chain through the adoption of different models, in order to monitor and interpret innovation at different stages of the supply chain, at different stages of the conversion process from research to business, and based on the extent of the impact on other sectors of activity
  • Multiperspective: By analyzing the technological transition of the agri-food supply chain from different perspectives, the observatory aims to identify actionable insights and implications for process management and policies on technological transition.

The Observatory’s activities will be funded by one or more Promoters and Sponsors.
