Research Center on Democracy

The Observatory on Political Imaginaries and Democratic Contestation, IMAGINE, operates in the field of political and social sciences, with a particular focus on the transformations of democratic systems in contemporary societies.

The Observatory aims to analyze the forms of political, cultural, and ideological dissent that influence liberal democracy, as well as the imaginaries through which future democrats are articulated and discussed. The Observatory employs an interdisciplinary methodology that combines political theory, intellectual history, sociology, and cultural analysis, supported by qualitative and comparative research tools.

Its activities include research projects, academic events, public outreach, and international collaboration. By integrating analytical work on democratic protest with the study of political imaginaries, the Observatory aims to strengthen academic understanding of ongoing democratic transformations and contribute to an informed public debate.
