Luiss University invites outstanding scholars and faculty to express their interest in a full-time position as Associate Professor of Macroeconomics.

Requirements

The call is part of the University’s strategic commitment to attract outstanding scholars from around the world, strengthen its international profile, and promote cutting-edge research and education on issues of global importance. The application is open to scholars of all backgrounds and nationalities. The selection will be based solely on academic merit, potential scientific impact, and alignment with the University’s Strategic Plan.

Ideal candidates will be high-profile scholars with experience in research and teaching, and an excellent scientific record in the field of macroeconomics. A proven ability to develop innovative research projects and to teach effectively in bachelor's and master's degree programs, as well as in doctoral research programs, is required.

Candidates must be able to teach and publish in English, as well as deliver instruction in person, in a blended format, and fully online.

Role and Responsibilities

Luiss Associate Professors are expected to conduct rigorous and innovative research in their fields of interest, publish in top-tier international journals, and provide academic support or leadership in research activities.
They are also expected to actively participate in the academic and intellectual life of the University and the Luiss community as a whole, as well as contribute to the development of the University’s curricula.

The teaching load is typically 120 hours per year for bachelor's, master's, or doctoral programs, unless special conditions are agreed upon at the time of appointment. Teaching assistantships are available. The appointed individual will also be required to supervise bachelor's, master's, and/or doctoral theses.
The position is full-time and offers a competitive salary.

About the Department

The Faculty of the Department of Economics and Finance develops and defines international research programs with the aim of formulating new scientific paradigms to understand and analyze economic phenomena. The Faculty's research interests include applied and theoretical microeconomics, macroeconomics, political economy, asset pricing, econometrics, industrial organization, international trade, international finance, labor economics, corporate governance, and corporate finance. The faculty regularly publish on topics related to these disciplines in leading international scientific journals. The Department also offers PhD programs.
