Instructional goals
Deepening the institutional system of the European Union legal order and the functioning of the main freedoms in the establishment of the internal market
Prerequisites
It is preferable to have some basic knowledge of international law (alternatively, students can also take the international law course at the same time).
Intended learning outcomes
1) knowledge and understanding: the student will have acquired basic knowledge of the EU institutional system and the principles governing the functioning of the internal market.
2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will be able to understand and apply the basic rules of the Union's institutional system and the principles governing the functioning of the internal market. These objectives will be achieved through the evaluation of the relevant case law carried out in class
3) Autonomy of judgment:
the student will acquire a critical awareness of the legal system of the Union, along with the formulation of autonomous judgements and the correct use of legal language
4) Communication skills: the student will acquire the ability to present the legal framework governing the EU through a good expressive technique.
5) Learning ability: the student will be able to conduct his/her own assessment of legal issues related to EU law, putting into practice the learning acquired during the lessons and the examination of practical cases

Lectures and examination of the relevant case law
Assessment Method
There will be two intermediate tests, which will be in written form (questions and answers or free answers)during the fourth and ninth weeks. If passed, these allow the examination to be divided into two parts.
Both for those who have taken both tests (and must therefore only take the examination on the remaining part) and for those who have not taken them, the final examination will take place entirely in oral form.
Thesis assignment criteria
A good grade in the final exam is required and the knowledge of two foreign languages. The subject of the dissertation is agreed with the student.
