Instructional goals

Companies and institutions are often engaged in activities and processes in the form of a project, both for the realization of orders on customer specifications, and for internal initiatives, for example in organization, IT and digital transformation, business development and marketing, real estate, innovation, research. To govern these challenges, companies adopt project-oriented operational modes that provide flexibility, adaptability, and timeliness; they adopt organizational models that enable high levels of integration and cooperation, and synergies between program, project and asset portfolio. Project-Based Organizations (PBOs) refers to a wide variety of organizational models for project/job creation. Project management refers to established methods of defining, planning, controlling and governing the project and project portfolio lifecycle. The Course is intended to develop the skills to cover integration roles, such as that of project managers and project workers, which must ensure the coordination of cross-functional professional communities, teams, work processes, projects, orders, product lines, in reference to strategies, plans, tasks, brand and market development, research, industrialization, personnel policies, change, digital transformation. In the company, integration roles refer to several "job profiles": IT: demand manager, program manager, project manager, business analyst Marketing: product manager, brand manager, account manager, regulatory manager, proposal manager HR: HR business partner, change manager operation: process manager, team manager, networker

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of Business Organization. Any text of business organization and/or human resources management used in three-year courses can be used to recover this knowledge. It will be very useful to have a basic understanding of e-collaboration solutions, such as WebExTeam, MSTeams.

Course Contents

Course content: - Project-oriented contexts - PBOs (Project-Based Organizations) - Project management and project lifecycle - Objectives and project charter assumptions - The planning process in high-determination or low-determination projects; - multi-project environments - WBS e Tecniche di scheduling (milestone, Pert, CPM, Gantt) - Resource leveling, critical paths, and rescheduling. Monitoring and controlling - Project structures and coordination mechanisms - Team working e project team; Cooperative working - Project manager job profiles and organizational integration roles - Project, engagement, time management -Relationship management and contest analysis - Client management and service relationship

Teaching Methods

Teaching requires active student participation. In addition to face-to-face, on-campus and online, students will be involved in case studies and manager experiences and, will be involved in breakout session. This will encourage collaborative learning through e-collaborations and the e-learning platform (http:// MyLuiss) where you will also be able to access the educational material.

Assessment Method

Course evaluation will differ based on attending and non-attending students. For attending students: Evaluation will have as reference: the textbooks Baglieri, E, Biffi, A., ed altri, 2012, Organizzare e gestire progetti, Rizzoli Etas, short supplementary readings recommended during the Course that shall be available on MyLuiss. this content will be enriched by the key concepts discussed in class and documented in the sets of slides Assessment will take place during the course (the week 3nd, 8th, 10th), where an individual assignment will be proposed during the lesson. It will consist of a quiz, or a small project work, that will be assigned a score. The sum of the points acquired based on the teachers' evaluation will contribute to the final score, up to a maximum total of 21 points. At the end of the course, the student must take the final written exam, based on three questions (open, or multiple choice), which will allow him/her to acquire up to a maximum of 9 points, which will be added the scores acquired above administered during the course (up to a maximum of 21 points) through quiz e project work. This mode of evaluation will allow the student to check the learning progress achieved also through attendance and active participation. If the student does not participate in more than 1 assignments, he/she will take the final exam as a non-attending student. For those who have missed no more than one assignments during the course, it will be possible to make up for them in the final exam, as they will be asked two additional question equivalent to missed assignment. The above evaluation will be applicable, and the student will be considered in attendance when: - the student will have participated in at least 2 assignments during the course, - the student will not have refused the score of any assignment - the student will take the exam in the winter session following the end of the course. Strategia e azione per gestire il cambiamento, Luiss University Press; short supplementary readings recommended during the Course that shall be available on Learn. this content will be enriched by the key concepts documented in the sets of slides The non-attending student will have to take the final written exam in presence, consisting of 10 questions (open, closed, or multiple choice) to each of which will be associated a score from 2 to 6 points depending on the complexity which will amount to a final score of 30.

Thesis assignment criteria

Theses assigned according to the outcome of the written exam. It is necessary for the request to submit a summary sheet of his thesis project, which the teacher will reserve the right to approve.
