Instructional goals

The course deals with the structure, functioning and evolution of Italian financial regulation with reference to the European and global framework. Starting from the functioning models of the financial market, it analyzes all the main topics of the regulation system in terms of regulation needs, market failure, interests to be protected, prerequisites for regulatory intervention, instruments and mechanisms of regulation, supervision processes, results evaluation

Basic knowledge of economics and mathematics

Intended learning outcomes

The student will understand the main elements of the structure and functioning of the modern financial market regulation

Correlation between market efficiency and regulatory system, regulation needs, main cases of market failure, stakeholders’ interests worthy of protection, prerequisite for regulatory intervention, regulation tools and mechanisms, supervision process, evaluation of results
