MANAGEMENT OF EMERGING & CLEAN TECH
Instructional goals
This course will provide students with an in-depth understanding of emerging technologies and clean technologies and their potential impact on the business landscape. The course will focus specifically on business model validation for companies operating in this space. Students will learn how to identify promising technologies, assess their commercial viability, and develop sustainable business models.
Intended learning outcomes
The students will: understand the key characteristics of emerging technologies and their link to innovation. They will learn to perform and evaluate technology trands and issues related to the implementation of emerging and clean technologies. They will implement industry analyses, market forecasts and business model innovation.

Teaching Methods
The course will combine lectures, class discussions, case studies, and a group project in cooperation with leading italian corporations. Lectures will provide the theoretical basis for understanding key concepts. Class discussions will provide students with the opportunity to apply the concepts learned and engage in critical debate. Case studies will provide concrete examples of how companies have successfully validated business models for emerging and clean technologies. The group project will allow students to directly experience business model validation by developing a plan for a new venture in an emerging technology sector.
Assessment Method
70% team project work to be developed during the course.
30% individual written exam.
