Luiss takes center stage at the event dedicated to the talents of tomorrow
Once again this year, Luiss Guido Carli University is taking center stage at the 5th edition of the Festival dei Giovani, which runs from today, Tuesday, November 10, to Thursday, November 12. The event, conceived and organized by Noisiamofuturo, which for four years has brought 80,000 young people from all over Italy together in Gaeta, is moving to a virtual space due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The calendar is packed with online events—featuring Elodie and Paola Cortellesi, among others—open to all students. They can watch live streams, take part in debates on virtual stages, join interactive workshops, and network with young people and schools from across the country. The goal remains to empower young people who want to be heard, to learn, to experiment, to have fun, and to freely express their ideas, aspirations, and talents.
Luiss Guido Carli University will be at the forefront with a series of innovative and engaging initiatives, starting with Myos – Make Your Own Series, a project created with Noisiamofuturo that focuses on writing TV series scripts. This includes lessons with young screenwriters and debates about the series that young people love the most.
In addition, young people will also be able to attend the webinar “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy – Ready Player 42” and explore the world of 42Roma Luiss: the new, completely free coding school launching in January 2021 for young people with a passion for digital technology. The 42 model is completely disruptive, featuring learning processes based on peer-to-peer learning and structured like a video game. This is an opportunity to learn about 42Roma Luiss and discover its philosophy, featuring insights from Luiss’s General Director, Giovanni Lo Storto, and testimonials from students who have already participated in the initial selections.
The evolution of digital and new technologies will be the focus of the virtual meeting “Digital Awareness: Artificial Intelligence in our Lives,” led by Luiss Computer Science Professor Giuseppe Italiano. He will encourage participating students to become aware of how and to what extent AI is present in the practical connections of our daily lives.
Finally, in preparation for the Luiss Admission Test for the 2021/22 academic year, a team from the University’s Orientation Office will provide students and families with detailed information on enrollment in the University’s Bachelor’s and Single-Cycle Degree programs, as well as available scholarships and financial aid opportunities.
They will also discuss the programs for the upcoming Luiss Summer Schools, which are orientation programs designed to help students understand their aptitudes and interests.
“Opportunities for coming together and growing are becoming increasingly important to foster reflection and dialogue between generations. Today, more than ever, it's crucial to understand the ambitions, needs, and dreams of a Next Generation seeking inspiration, certainty, and a future,”said Giovanni Lo Storto, General Director of Luiss Guido Carli. “We are proud to bring our experience and approach to education to the Festival dei Giovani, offering programs that align with the job market not only of today, but especially of the future.”
