Call for applications for the award of 10 (ten) research scholarships to be conducted at the Cyber Safe AI Innovation Laboratory, XAI Lab
Publication of the call for applications for ten scholarships aimed at recent graduates and young researchers to conduct research activities during the 2025/2026 academic year. The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, December 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
The call for applications is now open for ten scholarships to conduct research at the Cyber Safe AI Innovation Laboratory (XAI Lab), part of the AI4Society Research Center, to strengthen the Cyber 4.0 Competence Center. Interested candidates must submit their applications by Monday, December 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM (CET, UTC+1).
The 10 (ten) research scholarships are distributed as follows:
- 7 (seven) research fellowships, each lasting 4 (four) months, with an all-inclusive value of €5,000 (five thousand/00) paid in monthly installments in arrears, for conducting research on the following topic: “Participation in Action Design Research teams to develop AI use cases”;
- 2 (two) research fellowships, each lasting 4 (four) months, with an all-inclusive value of €10,000 (ten thousand/00) paid in monthly installments in arrears, for conducting research on the following topic: “Managing Action Design Research teams to develop AI use cases”;
- 1 (one) research fellowship, lasting 4 (four) months, with an all-inclusive value of €15,000 (fifteen thousand/00), paid in monthly installments in arrears, for research on the following topic: “Operational coordination of the XAI Lab's program of activities: methodological supervision, integration of results, and dissemination plan.”

The following documents must be attached to the application for admission to the selection process:
- a curriculum vitae listing all qualifications held, dated and signed, with authorization for data processing;
- a copy of a valid ID;
- a certificate of a four-year degree/master’s degree and, where applicable, an equivalent academic qualification obtained abroad, or a self-declaration certifying the qualification, pursuant to Article 46, letters l), m), n) of Italian Presidential Decree No. 445 of December 28, 2000;
- a list of any scientific publications;
- electronic copies of up to three academic papers that the candidate deems relevant for the scholarship award, including degree and/or doctoral theses;
- a declaration regarding any conflicts of interest and situations that would make the award incompatible. A specially appointed committee will select the winners by evaluating each candidate’s qualifications, curriculum vitae, and any publications submitted, and assigning a corresponding score.
