Application
Application
The application deadline is Friday, January 27, 2023, at 5:00 pm (CET)
*Please note: Grants are awarded for a period of teaching abroad within the Erasmus+ Program at a Luiss Erasmus+ Partner Institution for teaching assignments.
The current list of Luiss Partner Institutions for the Erasmus+ Program is available here. The list includes Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching partners and Erasmus+ Student Mobility partners. For the latter, an Inter-Institutional Agreement will need to be signed specifically for teaching assignments before the Mobility takes place. If the application is successful, Faculty Mobility will be able to handle this.
It is recommended to choose a Hosting Institution for the application from among those on the aforementioned list.
Nevertheless, candidates may also submit applications for other institutions (with an approved ECHE – Erasmus Charter for Higher Education – 2021/2027). However, a dedicated commission (responsible for the selection procedure) will need to evaluate the possibility of proceeding with the relevant Inter-Institutional Agreement, in addition to evaluating the application itself.
Selection
A dedicated Commission will evaluate applications, and the selection results will be communicated by February 20, 2023.
Applications will be prioritized based on the following criteria:
- Full integration of the professor’s teaching period within the host institution’s study program.
- The opportunity to strengthen and expand relationships between departments and faculties, and to prepare future collaborative projects.
Furthermore, the Commission will favorably consider:
- Applications from professors who have not previously participated in mobility programs
- Applications for mobility to potential advanced strategic partner universities
Financial Rules
- The total amount available for one grant, for a 5-day mobility, can be a maximum of €1,080*
- The Program also allows staff teaching mobilities without grants.
*Please note: The grant will be the sum of the contribution for the stay and the contribution for travel expenses. The contribution for the stay is calculated based on a fixed-rate chart, depending on the allowable length of stay (number of days) and the destination. The travel expense contribution will be added to this amount and calculated based on a fixed-rate chart, depending on the distance traveled. Travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator available on the Erasmus+ website. Please refer to the “Technical Notes” document in the “Useful Materials” section for further information on the aforementioned fixed-rate charts.
Beneficiaries participating in Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching should retain boarding passes, train tickets, or other travel tickets, which must be submitted along with the mobility documentation.
Travel arrangements not directly related to the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching, such as travel to conferences or any other visits before or after the Erasmus+ mobility, will not be considered eligible.
Important Deadlines and Dates
- Application deadline: January 27, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. (Italian local time)

- The period abroad must be between March and July 2023.
Important Details for the Mobility Period
The mobility period must last a minimum of 2 days of activity and a maximum of 5 days of activity (the days of activity must be consecutive). Before departure, to be eligible for the Program, Professors (categories indicated above) will need to prepare the Mobility Agreement - Staff Mobility for Teaching, including a Teaching Program that outlines the objectives, the added value of the mobility, the teaching content, and the expected outcome. This must be submitted to and signed by both the Home and Host institutions.
