Interested candidates must submit their applications by June 27, 2024, at 12:00 PM (CEST, UTC+2).

The LATIF project, “Leveraging Argument Technology for Impartial Fact-Checking,” is funded by the European Media & Information Fund (EMIF), managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and coordinated by the Data Lab research center at Luiss Guido Carli University. The center specializes in data, new technologies, and artificial intelligence to combat disinformation. As part of the project, the Data Lab coordinates a high-profile international team of experts in digital storytelling and disinformation, in collaboration with the University of Dundee, the University of Liverpool, and the think tank T6 Ecosystems.

The project applies the Competitive Hypothesis Analysis (CHA) methodology to the field of fact-checking to counteract and control cognitive biases in the fact-checking process. The project will develop a new generation of digital tools based on ACH to enhance the decision-making processes of fact-checking organizations.

The selected candidate will collaborate with the entire Data Lab network to achieve the project's goals. This includes the Italian Digital Media Observatory, the national node of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO), as well as Rai – Radiotelevisione Italiana S.p.A., TIM S.p.A., Pagella Politica, News Guard, the University of Tor Vergata, and the GE.DI. Group. S.p.A., along with La Repubblica and other national and international supporters.

The comparative assessment process aims to select one (1) Dissemination Manager. This role will focus on social media analysis to understand how information spreads and to promote the dissemination of high-quality information.

The contract will begin this month, subject to administrative processing times. Its duration will be specified in the contract following the comparative selection process and will run until the project's conclusion on October 31, 2024.

Presence in Rome is required.
