Digital Humanism: individual, common, and collective good: the call for applications for Percorsi Assisi 2021 is now open
Digital Humanism: individual, common, and collective good. The call for applications for Percorsi Assisi 2021 is now open
“Percorsi Assisi” is back in the Umbrian town for its second edition. This inter-university and continuing education school was conceived by the Sacred Convent of Assisi in collaboration with six Italian universities.
From August 28 to September 5 in Assisi, Luiss Guido Carli, the University of Bologna, Politecnico di Milano, the University of Naples Federico II, and the Universities of Perugia and Macerata—thanks to a multi-year agreement signed in March 2020—will welcome students, recent graduates, and doctoral candidates from all over Italy for a week of lectures and technical seminars on the theme of Digital Humanism. The goal is to address questions about the evolving relationship between humans and technology, as well as the opportunities that a growing cross-disciplinary approach between the humanities, science, and digital languages can bring to tomorrow’s society.
Set within the iconic Sacro Convento, the latest edition of “Percorsi Assisi” aims to put the individual back at the center, fostering a new development paradigm. Here, the Franciscan values of humanism, community spirit, social responsibility, and brotherhood guide the creation of new rules and models for a digital acceleration that is as inclusive and sustainable as possible.
The project will feature both traditional lectures and hands-on, experiential learning—“learning by doing”—through a multidisciplinary approach led by scholars and faculty from the six partner universities. That's not all. Throughout the week, participants will have the chance to attend keynote lectures by world-class innovators and entrepreneurs, engage in teamwork and project work on Digital Humanism topics, and get to know local companies and organizations that have successfully accelerated their digital transition while keeping a strong “human” touch. The lessons will be interspersed with nature walks and cultural visits to explore the region's beauty.
