Rome, July 21, 2020. Author Roberto Costantini, a professor and administrator at Luiss Guido Carli, has made a significant and generous gesture by donating the proceeds from his latest book, “Anche le pulci prendono la tosse,” to the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute of Infectious Diseases for the research initiative “Un aiuto contro il coronavirus.” The Institute has thus received a donation of 240,000 euros, which will help support research to identify new immunomodulatory therapies useful for managing patients with SARS-CoV-19.
Now more than ever, we feel compelled to make a tangible contribution to those who work daily to ensure the well-being of society and our recovery from the pandemic crisis. The Spallanzani INMI is a shining example of this, with a team that has taken on an exceptional workload to tackle the emergency.
Costantini's captivating thriller, written in a single night during the lockdown, depicts how the lives of its characters undergo transformations, abrupt setbacks, and rebirths during a period that has left a profound mark on all of us and holds significant meaning in our shared history.
It's a guaranteed experience for those who want to lose themselves in a captivating read while also supporting a noble cause.
Roberto Costantini’s donation of his author’s rights is the latest in a series of social solidarity initiatives launched by the Guido Carli University to support the Rome hospital. These include a fundraiser by the alumni association that gifted an ambulance to the hospital’s patients.
