Luiss student Giovanni Boccanelli is enrolled in the Master's Degree Program in Management and has been selected to participate in the QTEM Masters Network program, which involves studying at two foreign universities. “I chose Luiss because of the variety of initiatives it offers and its international prestige.”

The student volunteers with the Luiss chapter of the Community of Sant'Egidio, distributing meals to the homeless in the Policlino, Verano, and San Lorenzo areas of Rome. “This is my first experience volunteering, and I'm finding it truly enriching. “A genuine connection forms with the people we help,” he explains. “Despite the current emergency caused by COVID-19, our connection to those most in need hasn't faded. That's the most beautiful thing: they feel our presence even when the whole world retreats to their homes,” the student says.

According to Giovanni, one of the Luiss values that becomes evident when you're involved in this kind of activity is the university's commitment to social causes: “The university is built on a solid value system, and that's why it addresses all the most important issues in today's world.” Giovanni recommends that all university students engage in a volunteer experience because “it's not just about charity; it's a real opportunity for growth and personal enrichment.”

For the student, the best memory of the university is the bond he formed with his classmates, which deepened through group projects and shared challenges. In the future, Giovanni would like to work for a startup or a nonprofit: “I'd like to work in an environment whose mission is to improve people's quality of life.”
