The ethics of sport took center stage at the seminar scheduled for the morning of Saturday, May 29, at the “G. Marconi” in Colleferro: The Luiss-Avio Rugby Team was welcomed by the school's students, who will attend a demonstration on sports and ethics. The event is organized by AS Luiss Sport and Avio, a leading company in the space propulsion sector, with the support of the Municipality of Colleferro.

It was a day of meeting and discussion that brought together young students, university athletes, and representatives of a leading Italian company with a shared desire to convey the positive message embodied in sport: respect for others, teamwork, and fair play. These are the cherished values that form the ethical foundation of rugby and foster social interaction among teenagers and young adults.

That's why Avio, the Official Partner of AS Luiss and a long-established company based in Colleferro, AS Luiss, and the Municipality of Colleferro joined forces to help spread these principles among the students of the “G. Marconi” High School in Colleferro.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Colleferro, Giulio Calamita; Avio's Director of Human Resources, Stefano Bottaro; AS Luiss Director, Paolo Del Bene; and AS Luiss rugby coach, Giampietro Granatelli. Also present were the AS Luiss rugby team, the school principal, Antonio Salvatore Sapone, and students and teachers from the Marconi High School in Colleferro.

The athletes from the Luiss rugby team, with Avio as their main sponsor, visited the students at the Marconi Institute. They engaged the students in their sport, using the metaphor of rugby to represent values like courage, teamwork, trust, support, and the third period. In fact, the demonstration led by Coach Granatelli will focus on the physical challenge with the opponent and with oneself, the fundamental rules of rugby, and consideration for teammates and cooperation.

The day continued with the AS Luiss-Avio Rugby Team visiting the company, where the team met with Avio staff for a moment of mutual understanding and growth, centered on the ethics that are at the heart of both sports and work. This was a significant opportunity for the athletes of the only university team admitted to the federal rugby championship.

“Together... A goal for ethics” is one of the educational activities hosted by the Municipality of Colleferro to mark its designation as the 2021 Capital of Space, an achievement made possible in part by the long-standing presence of a company like Avio in the area.
