Luiss Master's in Journalism and Multimedia Communication: here is the 2021-2023 call for applications
Call for applications 2021-2023 for the Master's in Journalism and Multimedia Communication
Thirty candidates, both male and female journalists, will participate in the second two-year program of the Master's in Journalism and Multimedia Communication at Luiss Guido Carli, chaired by Professor Livia De Giovanni and directed by Gianni Riotta. During the two-year period from 2021 to 2023, the selected candidates will complete a journalism internship in accordance with the rules and guidelines of the Order. They will then take the professional qualification exams to be registered on the Professionals list. At the same time, upon completing their studies and exams, candidates will receive a Luiss Level I Master's Degree.
Courses, seminars, and workshops will train interns in all media techniques—newspapers, TV, radio, web, and magazines—with experimental courses on data-driven journalism, podcasts, and new techniques in digital storytelling and video. The faculty includes veterans of the news industry like Giorgio Casadio and Alberto Flores d'Arcais, courageous reporters like Federica Angeli, correspondents like Francesca Paci, and communication directors from major corporations. Massimo Russo, a graduate of our program and the editor-in-chief of Esquire Italia and digital director of Hears Italia, will lead the web courses and seminars. Bill Emmott, Jeremy Caplan, Moises Naim, and Roberto Saviano—names from the New York Times, Washington Post, France Press, Financial Times, NBC, The Economist, and Liberation—will take turns hosting workshops and conferences. Alongside them, Luiss faculty will train the successful candidates in law, economics, history, sociology, computer science, statistics, coding, and professional ethics.
The editorial office was recently revamped, transforming it into a digital experimental facility with TV, radio, and web studios, all in an open-plan space streaming 24 hours a day. Media leaders who have attended our courses include Corrado Corradi (Gedi Group), Gina Nieri (Mediaset), Antonello Caporale (Il Fatto), Emiliano Fittipaldi (Domani), Mara Gergolet, Mario Sensini, and Antonella Baccaro (Corriere della Sera), Stefano Cappellini (La Repubblica), Lina Palmerini (Sole 24 Ore), and Maria Corbi, Amedeo La Mattina, and Francesca Sforza (La Stampa). The editorial team of successful candidates will produce and broadcast news and in-depth analyses covering the geopolitical, cultural, and economic landscape. They will join the established community of the Master’s in Journalism and Multimedia Communication and of Luiss Guido Carli University.
Good luck to all applicants—it will be an exciting experience regardless! We look forward to seeing you at the written and oral tests in October, when we'll determine the 30 colleagues who will join the newsroom on their first day of work.
