Luiss in Milan to present its Master's Degrees
Formulating questions and developing solutions, navigating different “fields of knowledge” to tackle the challenges of the future: in short, tomorrow's “Enquirer” professionals will need knowledge, know-how, and interpersonal skills, backed by a “toolkit” that combines specialized expertise with real-world experience.
And it’s precisely for all students embarking on an educational journey that Luiss presented its Master’s Degree offerings on Friday, February 3, at the Milano Luiss Hub in Via Massimo d’Azeglio, with the event “Thoughts and practical experiences on how Luiss shapes the professionals of today and tomorrow.”
The event featured prominent guests from academia and business, who discussed how new technologies and creativity can be used to generate innovative solutions and create value in the age of intelligent algorithms. Following introductory greetings from University Rector Andrea Prencipe and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Master’s Programs Simona Romani, the panel featured alumni who hold key managerial roles in Italian and international companies. Among them were Stefano Barrese, Head of the Banca dei Territori Division at Intesa Sanpaolo; Luca Valerio Camerano, Managing Director at Algebris Investments; and Rosa Sangiorgio, Head of Responsible Investing at Pictet Wealth Management. Alberto Orioli, Deputy Editor of Il Sole 24 Ore, will moderate the event.
Luiss shared with Lombardy students its new educational model, Enquiry-Based Learning (EBL), and its program offerings in the fields of economics, management, political studies, and international relations, as well as in emerging areas such as cybersecurity, big data, data science, and the new frontiers of Artificial Intelligence.
During the day at the Milano Luiss Hub, prospective students were able to experience firsthand this new learning process. It aims to stimulate students' critical thinking through a rigorous scientific method, which will also be complemented by opportunities for discussion and dialogue with global companies such as Amazon, Meta, and Tencent.
Indeed, EBL aims to develop in students the skills and competencies essential for finding solutions to real-world problems: critical and creative thinking, leadership, an entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
In addition to ensuring a high-profile academic education, the University named after Guido Carli will also support young talent in the coming academic year by awarding over 1,300 scholarships, with the aim of revitalizing the country’s social mobility.
