Luiss has climbed over 200 positions since joining the GreenMetric Ranking in 2018, reaching 13th place globally in 2024 (up from 15th in 2023) and 2nd place in Italy. The University reaffirms its commitment to sustainability with an overall score that has risen to 9,225 points, reflecting its various initiatives and progress in this area.

  • Energy and Climate Change: 2nd place globally
  • Water: full score (1,000/1,000)
  • Education and Research: full score (1,800/1,800)

These results solidify Luiss’s position as one of the world’s most virtuous universities in addressing sustainability challenges.

What is the GreenMetric Ranking?

Created by Universitas Indonesia in 2010, the GreenMetric Ranking assesses the sustainability performance of 1,477 universities across 95 countries. The ranking considers six main areas:

  • Energy and Climate Change
  • Waste
  • Water
  • Transportation
  • Education and Research
