Luiss ranks 1st in the 2023 Censis Ranking of the best non-state universities in Italy
Luiss Guido Carli is Italy's top non-state university and, for the fourth year running, remains at the top among medium-sized universities (those with 5,000 to 10,000 enrolled students).
The ranking is compiled by Censis, Italy's leading socio-economic research institute. Each year, Censis produces a detailed analysis of the Italian university system, evaluating universities based on various indicators, including their level of internationalization, services and facilities, scholarships, communication, and digital services. With a score of 91.4, the Free International University of Social Studies has reached the top spot among non-state universities for the first time.
Luiss was recognized primarily for its internationalization, scholarships, and communication and digital services—three areas in which the university has invested heavily in recent years, as stated by Rector Andrea Prencipe: “The consolidation of Luiss’s position in the Censis ranking, along with its parallel rise in other international academic rankings, reflects a significant acceleration in our university’s strategic directions: Innovation, Interdisciplinarity—through our inquiry-based educational model—and Internationalization. We are working with conviction on the latter to create new opportunities for education and research across five continents. Exploring new territories, strengthening connections with universities in different countries, offering scholarships by actively involving our extensive network of graduates, and attracting international students and faculty are the driving forces behind the development of an increasingly global Luiss.”
