"Luiss wins an H2020 grant with the MediaFutures project"
Luiss has secured significant European funding for the project “MediaFutures, Data-driven innovation hub for the media value chain.” The project, in which the University participates as a partner in a consortium, will receive funding totaling €4,994,712.50 under the EU's Horizon 2020 Program for research and innovation, specifically under the topic “DT-ICT-05-2020 Big Data Innovation Hubs.”
Coordinated by the Leibniz University of Hannover, “MediaFutures” aims to support the European community in breaking down so-called “data silos” to facilitate data sharing, reuse, and negotiation, thereby fostering new business opportunities for European companies. Through a consortium of ten partners, both academic and non-academic, MediaFutures proposes the creation of a second-generation virtual data innovation hub. This hub will offer funding opportunities, mentorship, and support for creative projects aimed at reshaping the media value chain through responsible and innovative data use.
The Luiss team includes Gianni Riotta, Director of the Luiss Data Lab and the Luiss “Massimo Baldini” School of Journalism; Livia De Giovanni, Professor of Statistics and Director of CeFOP – Center for Studies in the Economics of Education and Professions; Giuseppe Italiano, Professor of Computer Science; and Giovanni Orsina, Professor of History of Journalism and Electronic Media and Director of the School of Government.
