Martina Capriotti: Innovation to elevate Made in Italy
Luiss graduate Martina Capriotti earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the university, gaining experience abroad first in Copenhagen and then in Canada. During her first job at Boston Consulting Group in strategic consulting, she had the opportunity to work between South Korea and Japan. “During the final semester of my master's degree, I took part in a Business Game organized by Luiss and a consulting firm. This experience allowed me to express myself more fully and to transition from my academic background into a professional career.”
Upon returning to Italy, “I threw myself into an entrepreneurial endeavor. I wanted to take what I'd learned in consulting and apply it to an idea of my own. I created MIRTA: a startup that aims to provide a platform for small, Made in Italy leather artisans."
According to Martina, one of the university's strengths is the wide range of extracurricular activities available, which provide a well-rounded education. In fact, her advice to students is, “If you have a dream, with hard work and the right amount of ambition, you can achieve it. Moreover, my journey has taught me that your initial choices shouldn't hold you back. Instead, you have to be brave and push past your limits to achieve great results.”
Her fondest memory from her time at Luiss, besides the campus itself, is the people she met, who are still a part of her daily life.
Martina's goal is “to give a boost to a changing sector, to make a real impact on the region and on people. My ambition is to preserve an Italian tradition that has made us great, through digital channels."
