The new “Policy Observatory” at the Luiss School of Government is now up and running
In early May, the Scientific Committee of the newly established Policy Observatory at the Luiss School of Government (SOG) met for the first time on the Luiss Campus in Viale Romania. The Committee is led by Domenico Lombardi and Giovanni Orsina and includes Alessandro Aresu, Vitalba Azzollini, Francesco Di Ciommo, Giovanni Doria, Antonio Funiciello, Luigi Gianniti, Luigi Di Gregorio, Marco Valerio Lo Prete, Domenico Mastrolitto, Alberto Mingardi, Federico Niglia, Chiara Oldani, Marcella Panucci, Riccardo Pozzi, Gianclaudio Torlizzi, Piero Vietti, and Senior Fellow Luciano Monti. Carolina De Stefano and Nicola Lupo from the School of Government, Riccardo Pugnalin from its Advisory Board, and Flavio Valeri also attended the meeting.
The Scientific Committee’s composition, which includes individuals from academia, institutions, and the professions, offers a blend of knowledge and expertise that enables the Policy Observatory to contribute authoritatively to the public policy debate and its intersection with the economy, governance, and geopolitics.
The Policy Observatory's mission is to develop and disseminate applied research in the field of public policy, evaluating public policies and institutions, formulating innovative reform proposals, and providing an ideal forum for discussion among academics, experts, and policymakers.
“The Policy Observatory is a new addition to the world of applied research in Italy. Based within the School of Government, it perfectly complements its structure by focusing on policy analysis to elevate the quality of the debate,”stated Giovanni Orsina, Director of the Luiss SOG and founder of the Policy Observatory.
“The Policy Observatory aims to act with expertise and authority, bridging the gap between theory and practice, between academic research and the world of policy, and engaging institutions to drive change based on international best practices,” said Domenico Lombardi, Director of the Policy Observatory.
