The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, meets with a delegation from the Luiss Guido Carli University

Today, Friday, February 17, a delegation from Luiss Guido Carli—led by President Vincenzo Boccia, Vice President Paola Severino, Rector Andrea Prencipe, and Director General Giovanni Lo Storto—was received at the Quirinal Palace by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present to the Head of State the main social mobility projects to which the University has been deeply committed for some time. In his brief introduction, Luiss President Vincenzo Boccia described 42 Roma Luiss, the revolutionary coding school that trains professionals for the digital transition of businesses and public administration. Next, Dr. Emma Marcegaglia, President of Luiss Alumni for Growth (LA4G), outlined the activities of this investor club. Comprising over 100 university graduates, the club supports tech startups with the goal of generating value to fund scholarships for students from disadvantaged areas and social backgrounds.

At the end of the meeting, two testimonials were shared: Martina Basile, a student at 42 Roma Luiss, recounted her experience at the innovative school for digital entrepreneurs launched in Rome and later in Florence; and alumnus Andrea Carmignani recapped the growth of Keyless, a next-generation biometric authentication startup he co-founded in 2019.

Since its founding, Luiss University has played a central role in the world of education, contributing to the training of professionals, managers, and individuals in institutions with the aim of fostering the country’s cultural and socioeconomic growth.

This mission has also been accompanied by a strong focus on social mobility issues, through increasing investment in scholarships and inclusion programs for deserving and talented students. This vision is valued and shared by its network of over 50,000 alumni: to pursue economic development while always keeping its social purpose clear.
