Researcher Luiss Maria Giulia Amadio Vicerè wins the Marie Curie Fellowship
Luiss alumna Maria Giulia Amadio Vicerè, a researcher and professor in the Department of Political Science, has been awarded the European “Marie Curie Fellowship” for her project “EUDIC- EU Foreign Policy Differentiation and Integration: Informal Groups in EU Approach to Conflicts and Crises.”
A Standard European Fellowship, to be conducted at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute, a leading research center in the social sciences in Europe.
Promising researchers eager to conduct a study at an institution in an EU member state have the opportunity to win a research grant provided annually by the European Commission.
In 2019, the Commission received a record number of applications: 9,875 for the Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, with 7,706 of those for the Standard European Fellowship. Only 1,740, or 13.16%, reached the cut-off score (93) to secure funding in the Social Sciences and Humanities field.
Researcher Maria Giulia Amadio Vicerè was awarded the fellowship with a score of 94.2, a score achieved by only 10.6% of the candidates.
During her time at the university, Maria Giulia built a solid research profile, which she complemented with numerous experiences abroad. She has worked as an Assistant Professor at Leiden University and as a researcher at King's College London, the University of Washington in Seattle, and the European University Institute.
