The seeds of ethics

Luiss, Mecs, ACSI, Lega Pro, ICS, and P&Co continue their educational journey in the world of schools, now in its seventh year. Thanks to their dedicated efforts, the project has engaged over 50,000 students and athletes.

The seeds of ethics

The second and final (outdoor) phase of 'I Semi dell'Etica' is fast approaching. This sports and educational project is aimed at high school students in their first and second years, and is made possible through a collaboration between Mecs (Movimento per l'Etica, la Cultura e lo Sport), ACSI (Associazione di Sport Cultura e Tempo Libero), Lega Pro (Lega Italiana Calcio Professionistico), and Luiss Guido Carli University. The ICS (Istituto per il Credito Sportivo) serves as the institutional partner, while P&Co (Pezzilli & Company) provides media support.

Thousands of students across the country have embarked on a sports and educational journey focused on ethics within their schools. The journey encompasses educational, recreational, and sports activities. The project was supported by a digital component, which enabled the administration of the Ethic-Quiz on a dedicated platform, the creation of a social media post, and participation in an eSport tournament – FIFA 2022. In addition to these activities, there was also a series of orientation webinars for fourth- and fifth-year students. These students benefited from valuable insights shared by young Luiss Ambassadors, who, as Luiss students and team managers of the As Luiss sports teams, conveyed the healthy and positive values that sport teaches and which are essential for young people’s development.

Each participating school was 'adopted' by a Lega Pro soccer club in its area. Here are the clubs participating in the project, to whom we extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks: Fermana F.C., Latina Calcio 1932, F.C. Legnago Salus, Palermo F.C., F.C. Südtirol, and Virtus Entella.

The next event is scheduled for the project's Final Phase, taking place on April 9th and 10th. The four finalist schools, selected after the indoor activities, are: I.I.S. “Avogadro” from Vercelli, ISIS “Fossombroni” from Grosseto, I.I.S.S. “L. da Vinci” from Martina Franca (TA), and Liceo “Marconi-Delpino” from Chiavari (GE). These schools will participate in the planned activities with a delegation of eight students and two accompanying teachers.

Everyone is invited to the Acqua Acetosa Olympic Preparation Center and then to Luiss. During the final two-day event, April 9 will be dedicated to a seminar at the Luiss Campus in Viale Romania 32. There, in the “The Dome 2” auditorium, starting at 4:15 PM, delegations will attend a session focused on university orientation. This will be followed by a lecture on sports ethics, presented by the Luiss Sports Association. Guests will also enjoy a brief tour of the Luiss Campus throughout the day. On April 10, starting at 9:30 a.m., there will be time for sports, with a five-a-side soccer quadrangular tournament on the fields of the Giulio Onesti Olympic Preparation Center. This will determine the winning school of the Seventh Edition of “I Semi dell'Etica.”
