SIOS23 Summer: TOGETHER

SIOS23 Summer: TOGETHER

SIOS23 Summer: TOGETHER

Connections, needs, and opportunities. Three words that define the framework of SIOS23 Summer: INSIEME, the second event of the year with StartupItalia Open Summit, which will take place on June 27 in Rome at the Luiss Guido Carli University.

For the first time, SIOS, one of Italy’s largest events dedicated to innovation, is coming to the capital. Alongside StartupItalia as the main partner will be SACE, the insurance and financial group directly controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. SACE shares StartupItalia’s mission to build and support a collaborative ecosystem, particularly through Open Innovation, to create new growth opportunities.

SIOS23 Summer: INSIEME is a free event designed to serve as a bridge between key players in innovation. Its goal is to broaden the scope of the innovation ecosystem by bringing together institutions, startups, SMEs, large companies, and the public administration as complementary stakeholders, fostering a mutual exchange of visions and experiences.

A day dedicated to work and learning, featuring thematic sessions and in-depth, vertical explorations of emerging technologies and trends. The event will host talks by key players in the innovation ecosystem, entrepreneurs and CEOs, representatives from institutions, and figures from the worlds of current affairs, scientific research, and sports. Following introductory remarks by Andrea Prencipe, Rector of Luiss Guido Carli, keynote speakers will include Alessandra Ricci, CEO of SACE; Guido Scorza, Member of the Board of the Italian Data Protection Authority; Cosimo Accoto, Tech Philosopher, Research Affiliate & Fellow (MIT), Adjunct Professor (UNIMORE), and Startup Advisor & Instructor; Emanuele Preve, CFO & Board Member of Riso Gallo; Luigi Capello, CEO of Lventure Group; and Luba Manolova, Director of Modern Work, Security, SMB Marketing & Business Development at Microsoft, who will continue the focus on Artificial Intelligence already addressed in the first leg of SIOS23 in Cagliari (the full updated agenda is available at this link).

The event will revolve around four main themes: collaboration among the ecosystem’s members, where SMEs can serve as a bridge between different stakeholders; the impact sustainability can have, including in terms of the economy and competitiveness; the development of the people who make up the supply chain and drive its success; and, finally, the technological transformation that leads to a change in pace and perspective for innovation generated by the country’s production system.

The Rome event will unfold on the main stage, featuring invited speakers who will participate in conversations covering each of the four themes. Topics include SMEs and their role in the industrial supply chain, innovation, technological transformation, and the importance of people within this system. The ideal venue for these talks is the innovative Dome structure on the Luiss campus. The 2023 edition will then see the launch of the Innovation Village, which represents the evolution of the ecosystem 10 years after the Italian “Startup Act.” It will be a place to foster an increasingly collective and inclusive dialogue between public and private stakeholders—a space dedicated not only to startups, but to all the key players who have driven the growth of the innovation sector nationwide, including SMEs, corporations, investors, VCs, and business angels. The Village will feature a variety of events and activities, including workshops, pitches, business matching, dedicated spaces for startups and SMEs, networking opportunities, and interviews. The event will be complemented by a refreshment area curated by Cosaporto, Italy’s first gift-tech company in the delivery sector. This innovative company enriches the ecosystem that StartupItalia aims to showcase at the Rome event.

Edenred Italia, a driving force behind innovation in the world of work, will host EdenredLAB at SIOS23 Summer. This workshop is dedicated to innovative projects from both established startups and individuals. At the end of the workshop, the best business idea will be awarded on the Summit stage. The results of a survey analyzing changes in the consumption habits of online shoppers in Italy will also be presented. Finally, the biannual update of the report on the state of investments in Italy will be released during the event, as always curated by the StartupItalia editorial team. Lventure Group will round out the picture by sharing Venture Capital scenario data with the audience, offering insights into the current state of the art.

The 2023 edition of SIOS, marking the 10th anniversary of StartupItalia, aims to broaden its focus to the entire Italian entrepreneurial sector. It will tell the stories of the people who make it up, those who daily contribute to the success of startups, SMEs, and large companies, and present the narrative through stages that form a journey across the whole of Italy.

After a successful start in Sardinia with SIOS23 Sardinia, the StartupItalia Open Summit continues its journey, showcasing the evolution of the entire innovation ecosystem. Radio105, the radio partner for all editions this year, will accompany StartupItalia on its journey.
