Sky Tg24 and the Luiss School of Government: Working together to explore the intricacies of politics and economics
In Italy and around the world, politics is facing new challenges. We are in a period of significant social, economic, scientific, and even political change. These are changes that deserve attention, research, in-depth study, and therefore, accurate dissemination and analysis .
For this reason, Sky TG24 and the Luiss Guido Carli School of Government are launching a collaboration to analyze the present and future challenges of policy-making. To understand and report on current and future events, to contextualize government decisions and the circumstances surrounding them, and to provide the public with the necessary tools to interpret such an uncertain and unpredictable period.
The excellence and authority of the Luiss School of Government in researching and analyzing public policy are combined with Sky TG24’s interest in and ability to communicate politics, delivering timely and in-depth information.
The Luiss School of Government team, led by Director Giovanni Orsina, will regularly appear on Sky TG24's in-depth political programs to provide analysis and commentary on Italian and international politics.
Additionally, Sky TG24 will provide a preview of the Monthly Report on Italy. This analysis, produced monthly by the Luiss School of Government in collaboration with the Luiss School of European Political Economy (SEP) and the CISE (Italian Center for Electoral Studies), serves as a unique guide to the political and economic landscape, decision-making processes, and public opinion trends in Italy. Starting tomorrow, when the director of the Luiss School of Government, Giovanni Orsina, will present the June report at 10:30 a.m. during the Start program. Other research, reports, and studies from the Luiss School of Government will serve as the foundation for the Sky TG24 editorial team to develop investigative pieces and special reports.
“Our partnership with the Luiss School of Government,” explains Sky TG24’s director, Giuseppe De Bellis, “aligns with our editorial strategy, which focuses on providing in-depth information and covering the decisions that impact citizens’ lives, always considering the context in which the news unfolds. Because, more and more, forming an opinion requires a comprehensive view.”
“Building a positive relationship between research, academic thought, and public opinion is always important,” says Giovanni Orsina, director of the Luiss School of Government, “but it's even more so in the post-Covid world. The Luiss School of Government is a higher education institution that serves institutions and professionals, with the additional goal of making a rigorous and clear contribution to the public debate. Together with Sky TG24, we’ll have a valuable opportunity to broaden our perspective on the country.”
In these complex times, the partnership between Sky TG24 and the Luiss School of Government aims to become a go-to resource for analysts and stakeholders, as well as for the public at home. It will help interpret policy-making phenomena in general and, more specifically, Italy’s situation as a European partner and a global player in the challenging post-Covid era that we will all have to face and, above all, understand.
