UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital: a new official partner of AS Luiss
Associazione Sportiva Luiss is pleased to announce a new partnership with UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital, a private hospital in Rome operated by UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), one of the leading academic healthcare groups in the United States. The facility will be an Official Partner of AS Luiss and, specifically, the Main Sponsor of the Rowing Section.
UPMC and AS Luiss share a vision focused on achieving mental and physical well-being through prevention and a healthy lifestyle, where physical activity plays a key role. A winning combination for those who want to achieve extraordinary results in sports, in their studies, and in their professional careers.
With over 70 years of history and success behind it, UPMC SMIH is now a hospital facility with a strong focus on technological innovation. It boasts state-of-the-art equipment, diagnostic tools and imaging, analysis laboratories, six operating rooms, and a highly specialized staff.
AS Luiss, which has been dedicated to promoting sports among the university’s students for over two decades, now encompasses 13 sports disciplines, 19 competitive teams, and 56 top athletes—both men and women—who have been pursuing dual careers for years. All the athletes, supported by AS Luiss and the university’s tutors, have achieved excellent results both academically and in competition. In particular, the rowing team, made up of a large group of students, competes in both individual and team events and has, over the years, contributed to the Associazione Sportiva Luiss’ extensive medal collection.
Luigi Abete, President of AS Luiss, sees this important partnership as an opportunity to reaffirm how crucial well-being is in the academic journey of all students. Indeed, the President hopes this marks the start of a tangible collaboration between AS Luiss and UPMC Salvator Mundi. A synergy that will create value for both organizations.
Riccardo Manca, CEO of UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital, expresses particular satisfaction with the new partnership with Luiss, a university that has always been at the forefront of promoting sports activities. Physical activity is a key component of a balanced, healthy lifestyle, and UPMC is deeply committed to promoting it. The Group boasts significant expertise in sports medicine, which will be made available to all university athletes. Looking ahead, this agreement could lead to new initiatives and activities where sports and health intertwine, fostering an increasingly healthy lifestyle.
