An awards ceremony was held yesterday at Luiss to honor Vincenzo Manes as Alumnus of the Year.
Manes, who graduated with honors in Economics and Business from Luiss in 1984, is the Executive Chairman of KME Group and the President and Founder of the Dynamo-Camp Foundation. He has been awarded the Cavaliere del Lavoro distinction and was honored by the Guido Carli University “for having distinguished himself in his professional career and civic engagement.”
Indeed, the Luiss Alumnus of the Year award is presented to a former student—one of the more than 58,000 Luiss Alumni worldwide—who has achieved significant milestones.
The traditional awards evening was attended by Luiss’s leadership—President Luigi Gubitosi, Rector Andrea Prencipe, and General Director Giovanni Lo Storto—as well as the President of the Luiss Alumni Network, Daniele Pelli. Over 200 guests from the worlds of institutions and business were also present, including alumnae Sister Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, and Marcella Panucci, Chief of Staff to the Minister of University and Research and a 2022 Luiss alumna. The audience also included a group of Luiss students who volunteered at Dynamo Camp.
The ceremony wrapped up with a convivial moment, during which Manes shared stories and anecdotes from his personal and professional life in an interview with Linus, the artistic director of Radio Deejay.
“It is with immense honor and gratitude that I receive this recognition from Luiss. On the one hand, it represents an opportunity to renew my bond with my alma mater, and on the other, it is a chance to embark on a new and stimulating journey of giving back as an alumnus, together with the Luiss Alumni Network. I’m delighted to be able to work with the university to promote the value of solidarity among students, as well as a new civic culture in society, fostering a conscious care for the common good. I’ve already worked on these issues while at the university, and I’m truly proud of the leadership that Luiss has achieved, including on the international stage,” said Vincenzo Manes.
In previous years, the Luiss Alumnus of the Year award went to: Marcella Panucci in 2022; Patrizia Micucci in 2021; Fabio Panetta in 2019; Riccardo Zacconi in 2018; Marco Morelli in 2017; Luca Maestri in 2016; and Carlo Messina in 2015.
