On Tuesday, December 6, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman spoke with Luiss students about the importance of the transatlantic partnership, U.S.-Italy relations, and support for Ukraine.
Wendy Sherman is on a diplomatic mission in Europe, visiting not only our country and the Holy See but also the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
The Q&A session between U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Sherman and students from the Guido Carli University was a significant step forward in the fruitful relationship of cooperation and dialogue between Italy and the United States, including in the academic sphere.
In fact, during a recent mission to Washington, a Luiss delegation—accompanied by Italian Ambassador to the United States Mariangela Zappia and representatives from Italian and American institutions, industry, and finance—launched the Luiss US Foundation, an operational hub dedicated to identifying new stakeholders in the United States.
But that’s not all: within the Transatlantic Investment Committee (TIC), Luiss is one of the promoters of the International Master’s program “Trans-Atlantic Business Executive” (TABE), which trains managers and professionals to address economic and commercial challenges across the Atlantic.
Indeed, TABE brings together academic institutions and industry associations from six countries (Italy, the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Canada), accelerating cooperation across the Atlantic in higher education as well as in industrial and commercial relations.
During the American mission, several scholarships funded by the National Italian American Foundation were promoted to enable U.S. students of Italian descent to enroll and attend Luiss Guido Carli.
