Where is America going? A public lecture by Robert D. Putnam
On Friday 29 April, the public lecture on "Where is America Going?" was delivered by Robert D. Putnam. The event also saw the participation of Andrea Prencipe, Luiss Rector, and Sergio Fabbrini, Luiss Dean of the Political Science Department for welcoming remarks.
“Today, we are experiencing social fragmentation: America has reached historic levels of political polarization, economic inequality, social isolation, and selfishness”, Robert D. Putnam, author and Malkin Professor of Public Policy.
Robert D. Putnam is one of the most influential political and social scientists in the world. His scientific publications are required readings for international scholars and students. He also served as an advisor to US presidents and European prime ministers. He is credited with having introduced the concept of ‘social capital’ in political analysis.
