Youth policies. The ANCI-LUISS protocol has been presented to the Chamber of Deputies

Today, at the Chamber of Deputies, ANCI and Luiss Guido Carli signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote initiatives that support young entrepreneurship and strengthen municipalities’ skills in shaping policies for the younger generation.

“In recent years, ANCI’s commitment to implementing projects focused on youth policies at the local level has steadily grown, reaching a total of over 600 projects, with 570 of them managed directly by municipalities. I believe it’s crucial to begin this joint process of identifying and analyzing the impacts we’ve made, so that public policies can be tailored to the needs and areas that young people across the country express to us, starting with guidance and training, and so that municipalities can enhance their planning capabilities.” This was stated by ANCI's Deputy Vice President, Roberto Pella, speaking at the press conference held at the Chamber of Deputies to present the protocol signed by ANCI and Luiss on youth policies.

Alongside Pella, the president of Luiss and the Luiss School of Government, Vincenzo Boccia, outlined the agreement, stating, “This agreement, which solidifies the relationship between our School and ANCI, bolsters our joint research and teaching efforts focused on youth policies in our country. Indeed, it’s crucial to also have a clear picture of the measures and initiatives launched by municipalities and local authorities, so we can define the right mix of solutions to address the issue of economic, social, and generational “divides” with an integrated approach. Italy needs policies that address young people both systemically and with locally tailored measures, so as to generate a positive impact in different local contexts.”

ANCI’s Deputy Secretary General, Antonella Galdi, noted that “for years now, ANCI has been committed to promoting initiatives and projects that encourage young people’s active participation in local political engagement. The younger generations need training and encouragement, which we strive to provide through Publica, ANCI's school for young administrators. However, equally important are the synergies with organizations, associations, and academia, such as the agreement we are signing today with Luiss. This agreement was strongly supported by ANCI to foster innovative educational programs that can align local needs and potential with national and international development strategies.

According to Giovanni Orsina, Dean of the Luiss School of Government, “Having reliable tools to evaluate youth policies is now a priority for Italy: an essential prerequisite for updating and improving public policies aimed at bridging the generation gap. The Luiss School of Government is honored that ANCI has chosen it, given its expertise, as a partner on this journey.”
