Specialist Consultancy Service Assignments for the needs of the AIDEAL Project co-funded by the Ministry of University and Research – Call for Applications
The call for three consultancy service assignments under the project AIDEAL is now online.
Interested candidates must submit their application by Wednesday March 4, 2026, at 15pm (CEST, UTC+2).
The AIDEAL project aims to: strengthen the Italian higher education system internationally; enhance international attractiveness and interest in the Italian and European higher education system worldwide; implement support, assistance, and dissemination actions for the international mobility system of faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff in higher education, in relation to existing instruments in this field, both bilateral and multilateral.
The comparative evaluation procedure is aimed at selecting three collaborators/consultants/professionals to carry out the following activities:
- Position 1 – Technical Communication Expert Activities
The consultant will support the following activities:
- Dissemination of research results to public institutions and Italian and foreign partner universities with staff exchange programs, in order to share the results achieved and strengthen the national and international network by implementing communication tools aimed at raising public awareness and fostering public debate;
Training for potential users of the research results, in particular: governing and supervisory bodies and staff, for the responsible management of AI within public policies, ensuring a balance between innovation and the protection of democratic and constitutional rights; and management bodies and staff, focusing on the use of AI in planning, strategy definition, and optimization of decision-making processes within public institutions.
- Position 2 – Junior Research Consultant Activities
The junior consultant will support the following activities:
- Research aimed at analysing the current state of European legislation on data circulation and use, and on the core principles of artificial intelligence regulation, including recent legislation (Data Governance Act, Data Act and AI Act), as well as an in-depth scenario analysis and review of best practices already existing at European level.
- Drafting of a report on the democratic, informed, and constitutionally oriented use of artificial intelligence which, building on the main directions of the ongoing debate, summarises the results of the above-mentioned research and identifies the necessary rules to define the framework within which artificial intelligence may be used to involve citizens in decision-making processes.
Dissemination of results to public institutions and Italian and foreign partner universities with staff exchange programs, in order to share the results achieved and strengthen the national and international network by implementing communication tools aimed at raising public awareness and fostering public debate.
- Position 3 – Senior Research Consultant Activities
The senior consultant will support the following activities:
- Drafting of the report on the democratic, informed, and constitutionally oriented use of artificial intelligence which, building on the main directions of the ongoing debate, summarizes the research results and identifies the necessary rules to define the framework within which artificial intelligence may be used to involve citizens in decision-making processes.
- Drafting of a Charter of Principles on the democratic and informed use of artificial intelligence, open to revision and signature by European and International Universities involved in the project, with the aim of establishing a scientific community dedicated to the analysis of the issues addressed, led by Italian professors and researchers.
- Training for potential users of the Report and the Charter, in particular governing and supervisory bodies and staff, for the responsible management of AI within public policies, and management bodies and staff, for the use of AI in planning, strategy definition, and optimization of decision-making processes within public institutions.

The selection of the three collaborators/consultants/professionals, which will be carried out by a dedicated Evaluation Committee, will consist of a preliminary assessment of candidates’ qualifications and may include an interview.
The outcome of the selection procedure and the final ranking will be published on the relevant Luiss webpage, together with any list of candidates invited to interview, including the relevant time and the method or location of the interview.
