MARKETS, REGULATIONS AND LAW
Instructional goals
As for main contents, this course aims to provide students with tools to critically assess the impact of law and regulation on markets and business activities; students will also gain a basic knowledge of competition analysis and antitrust.
From a broader perspective, the course aims to develop the communication skills of the students.
Intended learning outcomes
After attending the course, students should be able to:
- show a critical understanding of individual and collective agents behaviors
- rely upon a general knowledge about origins, structure and functioning of main contemporary legal systems, also in conjunction with market development
- be aware of main regulatory theories, as well as of the impact of regulation on markets and business activities
- navigate the main antitrust and competition law issues, also a US/EU comparative viewpoint.
