Four Luiss teams have been accepted into the Start Cup Lazio 2026
As one of the promoters of the Start Cup Lazio (SCL), Luiss, along with its young talents, is advancing to the second phase of the Business Plan Competition. This competition recognizes the best innovative business projects developed within Lazio's universities and research institutions.
With the aim of guiding and supporting teams in shaping their business ideas, the 12th edition of Start Cup Lazio has admitted 54 teams to the second phase , “Business Idea Validation”: 17 teams of researchers and 37 teams of students. The selection allows the admitted groups to access a training and mentoring program focused on developing their entrepreneurial project, in preparation for the final phase of the competition and the subsequent National Innovation Award (PNI).
Among the selected groups, Luiss is represented with four innovative projects. This result confirms the university’s growing involvement in initiatives focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and research enhancement.
In the Life Sciences – Med Tech category, the Luiss team of researchers advancing to the second phase presents the project “Oncologo.it.” This digital platform is dedicated to integrated oncology, combining AI tools for nutrition, a network of specialists, and digital services to support patients.
In the ICT category, three teams of Luiss students were selected. The first business idea, “Deskk,” develops an AI agent for the hospitality industry that optimizes staff workflow. The second idea, “Janent,” offers a simulation and debugging environment for autonomous AI agents, designed to support their testing, observability, and development in the pre-production phase. Finally, the third project, “NoShame,” aims to create an anonymous digital space focused on peer support, fostering real-time connections among individuals who share experiences of vulnerability and hardship.
Thanks to support from the Lazio Region and Lazio Innova, the teams advancing to the second phase will take part in a training and entrepreneurial mentoring program involving a total of 170 participants, including professors, researchers, postdocs, doctoral candidates, and students. Upon completing the program, the business ideas will advance to the final stage of the competition, with a view to the National Innovation Award (PNI). The top three business ideas—from both student and researcher teams—will receive cash prizes and additional recognition.
