Prof. Jens Schovsbo speaks at ILEO
ILEO is pleased to have hosted Professor Jens Schovsbo (CIIR University of Copenhagen) at the Luiss campus on Via Parenzo. His lecture, “The right to repair and to resell patented products in a circular economy,” was part of the joint seminars organized by the Luiss Department of Law and the Innovation Law and Ethics Observatory (ILEO).
Professor Schovsbo argued that there are strong, sound reasons for integrating sustainability concerns into the exhaustion rules across the EU's harmonized IP rights. He then argued that owners of patented products generally have the right to repair broken products, and that third parties should be allowed to assist in this.
