Start Cup Lazio 2025 Final
On Friday, September 19, at the Palazzo della Regione Lazio, the 11th edition of the Start Cup Lazio concluded with the award ceremony for the finalists who will participate in the National Innovation Prize of Ferrara (PNI 2025).
The most important regional Business Plan Competition, dedicated to the theme “Start Deep Tech: Research to Make a Difference,” sought this year to highlight the role of new technologies, as well as the urgent need for a systemic approach capable of driving sustainable growth and boosting the competitiveness of the Region and Italy on the international stage. With this in mind, the competition awarded the finalists who contributed to the debate by identifying effective responses to the complex challenges of our time, particularly those related to the goals set by the 2030 Agenda.
With 63 innovation stakeholders—including universities, research and production entities, companies, venture capitalists , and institutions—plus a network of connections that includes Luiss, the competition once again proved, through its awards and special mentions, that it can support innovative startups born from research. It showcases young talent and demonstrates how the synergy between universities, research organizations, and institutions is crucial for regional development.
Among the 26 finalist projects for the 2025 edition, developed at Luiss in the Cleantech & Energy field, CULTUM stood out. This entrepreneurial initiative promotes cleantech solutions for the agricultural sector and received the Green&Blue special mention. The Green&Blue Mention recognizes the best business project addressing climate change. It rewards projects that integrate innovation, technology, and the protection and enhancement of natural resources, while simultaneously driving economic growth and safeguarding the environment.
CULTUM offers a platform that connects smallholders of agricultural land with industry players, aiming to combat the abandonment of fields and promote sustainable agriculture. By leveraging Agritech solutions and Made in Italy supply chain models, the project aims to combine innovation, environmental responsibility, and ESG impact.
