The Double Degree in Corporate Finance with Maastricht University offers students a unique opportunity, covering essential finance topics such as corporate and entrepreneurial finance, governance, and risk management. It analyzes the interaction between companies and financial markets and introduces financial research methods.

Located in the Netherlands, Maastricht University is the country's most international university, with students and staff hailing from over 100 countries. The program takes a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with national and international institutions, companies, and industry.

The program is structured as follows:

  • The first year is spent at Luiss University (Rome);
  • The second year is spent at Maastricht University (Maastricht, the Netherlands).

 Students selected for the Double Degree will be registered at Luiss during their time at Maastricht University and will continue to pay tuition fees to Luiss. Students are exempt from paying tuition fees at Maastricht University.

If students meet the rules and conditions of both universities regarding required credits, attendance, deadlines, and academic integrity, they will receive two degrees, which will be issued according to each university’s procedures.

Application process

The call for applications will provide details regarding the application procedure, the selection process, deadlines, and further information. Students selected for a Double Degree program must adhere to the corresponding study plan. They must accept all the changes listed in the study plan, especially regarding languages and other activities.

Who can apply

Students enrolled in the first year of the Master’s program in Corporate Finance can apply for this program.

Each year, a total of students can participate in the program.

Requirements (updated for the 2026–2027 mobility year)

Candidates for this program should meet the following requirements:

  • Weighted average grade of 26/30 or higher
  • Students must have passed all first-semester exams by the deadline specified in the Call for Applications (typically by mid-February).

As for English, students must possess at least a C1 level (European Framework of Reference), demonstrated by one of the following certifications:

  • TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 91/120
  • IELTS: minimum score of 7.0
  • Duolingo: minimum score of 130
  • Cambridge: CPE, CAE, FCE with a minimum grade of A
  • Certificate issued by the Accademica Linguistica Trinity School in Rome
  • Certificate issued by the Luiss University Language Center
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, with instruction entirely in English
  • Bachelor’s degree taught entirely in English

Additional rules

  • Participation in this program will add additional points to the final grade of the master’s degree, as per Luiss rules.
  • Students will only be able to participate if they have no pending administrative issues with Luiss.
  • Exams passed at Maastricht University will be transferred to the Luiss career as per the study plan. It is not possible to request an official waiver of grade registration.

Registered ECTS credits: The academic score will take into account all registered credits valid toward one’s degree (excluding internships). Credits must be registered by the 2025 deadline specified in the Call for Applications (usually mid-February). Please note that additional courses (electives) will not be taken into consideration.
