Double Degree in Economics with Nova
Highlights
The Double Degree in Economics with Nova is a challenging two-year program taught entirely in English.
Upon completing the program, students will earn a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Luiss University and a Portuguese Master’s degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
The program is structured as follows:
- The first year is spent at Luiss (Rome)
- The second year is spent at NOVA (Lisbon)
Students selected for the Double Degree will be registered at Luiss during their time at NOVA and will continue to pay tuition fees to Luiss. Students will be exempt from paying tuition at NOVA.
To earn a Double Degree, students must comply with the rules and conditions of both their home and host universities regarding credits, attendance, deadlines, and more.

Who can apply
Students enrolled in the first year of the Luiss Master's Program in Economics and Finance, with majors in Economics and Finance, can apply to this program.
Available slots
For the 2026/27 mobility year, 2 students can take part in the program.
Requirements (updated for the 2026–2027 mobility year)
Candidates for this program should meet the following requirements:
- Weighted average grade of 26/30 or higher
- Students are required to pass all exams taught during the 1st semester and are strongly encouraged to pass all exams taught during the 2nd semester.
As for English, students must possess at least a C1 level (European Framework of Reference), demonstrated by one of the following certifications:
- CAE grade B or C;
- IELTS score of 7 or higher (NOT an online test);
- TOEFL iBT score of 91 or higher;
- A bachelor's degree taught entirely in English;
English language certificates must not be older than two years as of the start of the mobility period (September 1, 2026).

Candidates will be ranked based on their academic performance score, which is calculated according to the following criteria:
