The double degree in Economics with Nova is a challenging two-year programme, taught entirely in English.
Upon completion of the programme, students will earn a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Luiss University and a Portuguese Master’s degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
The Programme is structured as follows:
- The first year takes place at Luiss (Rome)
- the second year takes place at NOVA (Lisbon)
Students selected for the double degree will be enrolled at Luiss during their time at NOVA and will continue to pay tuition fees to Luiss. Students will be exempt from paying tuition fees at NOVA.
To obtain the double degree, students must comply with the rules and conditions of both their home and host universities regarding credits, attendance, deadlines, and so on.

Who can apply
Students enrolled in the first year of the Master's in Economics and Finance at Luiss, specialising in Economics or Finance, are eligible to apply for this Programme.
Available places
For the 2026/27 mobility year, two students will be able to participate in the Programme.
Requirements (updated for the 2026–27 mobility year)
Applicants for this Programme must meet the following requirements:
- A weighted average of 26/30 or higher
- Students are required to pass all exams scheduled in the first semester and are strongly encouraged to pass all exams scheduled in the second semester
For English, students must have at least a C1 level (Common European Framework of Reference), demonstrated by one of the following certifications:
- CAE level B or C;
- IELTS score of 7 or higher (NOT an online test);
- TOEFL iBT score of 91 or higher;
- A bachelor's degree taught entirely in English;
English language proficiency certificates must not be older than two years from the start of the mobility period (1 September 2026).

Candidates will be ranked based on their academic performance score, calculated according to the following criteria:
